Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Answer resident call lights promptly and courteously.
• Monitor and report changes in residents' physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
• Take and record vital signs as assigned.
• Assist residents with positioning, transfers, and ambulation while maintaining safety standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies.
• Help keep resident rooms clean, organized, and comfortable.
• Provide compassionate and respectful care that promotes resident dignity and independence.
• Follow all infection control, safety, and resident rights guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of Iowa
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely.

Lutheran Retirement Home is a 42-bed Skilled Nursing Facility which includes an 8 bed Dementia-specific unit. We offer a full continuum of care with our Independent Living apartments, Assisted Living apartments and Outpatient Therapy Clinic. • Description: The Director of Nursing oversees all nursing care, treatments, procedures, and other services.
• Oversee and manage the nursing department, ensuring that all services are provided in compliance with state and federal regulations. Ensure nursing staff receives the appropriate training and support to perform their roles effectively and safely.
• Utilizes substantial specialized judgment and skill in providing nursing care, observation, and counsel to residents and families. Develop and implement staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage and support for resident care needs.
• Conduct regular staff performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to nursing staff.
• Conduct regular audits of patient records, assessments, and documentation to ensure compliance with nursing home standards.
• Lead efforts to reduce readmissions, prevent adverse events, and increase resident satisfaction.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and complete documentation in residents' medical records.
• This is an on call position. Expected to work weekends and holidays if needed.

In collaboration with facility Administration, allocates department resources in an efficient and economic manner to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Collaborates with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies and advocacy groups, to develop, support and coordinate resident care, related administrative functions, and to represent the interests of the facility.

Qualifications:

• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• Has experience in geriatric nursing and the supervision and administration of nursing services.
